Engine: Twin Gas
Boat
Description: My partner and I have
finally decided to part ways with our baby. If I had the time, I'd buy
him out. But alas, the time has come. She is winterized, covered and
sitting on blocks near the confluence of the Neshaminy Creek and
Delaware River in lower Bucks County, PA. With a little TLC, she can be
the proud majestic lady she once was. We are the second owners and
purchased her in 1993. She is powered by twin Chrysler 318 cid/225 hp
FWC motors through Paragon transmissions. Both shafts in her v-drives
are sealed with the PSS/Packless Seal System (nary a drop of water). The
starboard motor was rebuilt shortly after her purchase in 1993. The port
motor has run like a champ since inception, with only a cylinder head
rebuild in 2000 to keep it purring. New exhaust manifolds, risers and
elbows were installed on the starboard motor before the 2002 season,
which was her last in the water. We were going to replace these items on
the port motor (replaced 1994) before! the 2003 season, but they are
still servicable. I am searching for my records containing the engine
hours, which I should have shortly. Various ignition parts have been
replaced through the years on both motors. The hydraulic trim tabs have
always functioned without a hitch. The roomy bilge is set up for dual
starting and dual house batteries with a dual Perko switch setup. A
Guest 2610 10 amp 2-bank 3-stage battery charger is also onboard. Rule
bilge pumps are installed fore and aft. Structurally, there is not much
to say except that she's a Uniflite. The hull is in excellent condition
( no blistering on this baby)with the bottom prepped and painted before
every season. With a large cockpit and 9' beam, she's perfect for
fishing or party cruising. Dual stations make her a dream to pilot. From
the flybridge during good weather or the cabin in late fall, she was
always a pleasure to skipper. We replaced most of the interior wood
panels in 1994 with mahogany treated annually ! with the Perma Teak
system. Equipment includes an Eagle LORAN! /Fish Fi nder unit that is
wired for both stations. The functional VHF ship-to-shore radio that
came with our purchase (and may be OEM) is installed on the flybridge. A
remote spot light is also installed. The roomy cabin contains the
original dinette and original upholstery (colors are circa Brady Bunch
era). The dinette folds down to sleep two. The alcohol stove next to the
working sink was removed for safety reasons. The comfortable v-berth
sleeps two and has a compartment for a portable head (included). The
orginal pump-out head was removed shortly after we purchased her due to
government regulations. As stated previously, she is in need of a little
tlc, both mechanically and cosmetically. Our upkeep waned somewhat in
the final two seasons we had her on the upper Chesapeake Bay. She spent
her first thirty seasons on the New Jersey coast, which she valiantly
weathered. We hope to find her a good home with a Uniflite fan.
