: I was reading old question answer sessions from 2004 and came across a discussion in regards to the Hull of Uniflite boats. The discussions centered around the claim that Uniflite boats were TANKS . During the discussion some one stated that Uniflite boats were solid fiberglass below the water line and did not have a wood core. Is this true for a 1977 42 DC. I was of the impression that the wood core extended below the waterline.

: I recently purchased a 1977 42 double cabin with 671 N s. When the 671 s are up to temperature and I begin to idle up the channel toward my marina the oil pressure drops to approx 5 psi (low enough to cause the alarm to chirp every once and a while). I brought this to the attention of my diesel mechanic and his response was do not worry about it, Detroit diesels are notorious for low oil pressure when at idle and warm (note, oil pressure when at 1500-2300 RPM s remains 30 to 40 even at temp, oil pressure at idle when cold is 30+). Is my mechanic correct or do I have a problem?
:
: Thanks for help!
