: Right you are, it was a broker that was telling me this regarding the Canoe Cove boats. It still seems that there are a lot of variants for the same type/style of boat out there.

: : Tollycraft and Trojan called theirs "Tri-Cabins." Uniflite called them "Double Cabins." Others call them "Aft-Cabins." Generally, they are all as noted, v-berth (forward cabin) and aft-cabin. Counting the salon as a "cabin" is a manufacturer's puffing or a broker not familiar with the manufacturer.

: : By the way, don't confuse them with "mid-cabins" or express cruisers with aft-cabins. Then of course, instead of a cabin you might have a "bunk room" which is generally, wall to wall bunk!

All,
Well actually Uniflite did build a "Tri-Cabin Cruiser" in 1966. I have one (and the a copy of the original brochure). This boat has only one helm (like an express cruiser) but an aft cabin with a 3.5' cockpit. This is indeed a rare boat so it's not surprising that others don't know about it. From conversations with previous workers at Uniflite they only built 5 or so of this model. So far in all of my travels around the PNW I have not seen any others like it.
